Before an AI assistant mentions a firm, four things have to be true, in this order. Fix each one in the demo to see why the order matters.

AEO, GEO and SEO

Three names, one goal: being the firm people find.

In plain English, here's what each one means. Discover covers all three, because AI answers are built on the same basics as search.

SEO Search engine optimisation

Helps your pages rank in search results: the list of links people compare.

You win when: Someone clicks your link.

AEO Answer engine optimisation

Helps your site give the direct answer to a question, for answer boxes, voice assistants and AI answers.

You win when: Your answer is the one that gets quoted.

GEO Generative engine optimisation

Helps AI assistants that write answers, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews, name and describe your business accurately.

You win when: The answer names you, gets your details right and links to you.

Key takeaways
  • AEO and GEO build on SEO. They don't replace it.
  • AI answers change, so measure the same questions over time.
  • Nobody can guarantee a citation. Clear, consistent facts improve your chances.
  • Schema and llms.txt are good housekeeping, not a shortcut. Google says no special AI files are needed.
Five upgrade steps
  1. Write down the questions your clients ask.
  2. Answer each one plainly on your website.
  3. Add schema, so machines know who you are and where you work.
  4. Let AI crawlers in, and make sure your pages read without scripts.
  5. Keep your facts the same everywhere: website, Google Business Profile and directories.
What we check

Four pillars, on a solid foundation

First we make sure AI can reach and read your site. Then we check the four things that decide whether it can name you, and cite you.

Foundation

Reachable and readable. AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt, no firewall or CDN rule blocking them, one main domain, and key pages that read as plain HTML, fast on mobile. If a site can't be crawled, we report "couldn't crawl" on its own, not as a score of zero.

01

Entity clarity

Is it obvious who you are, what you do and where?

  • Name, services and area stated the same way everywhere
  • About and contact pages that say who's behind the firm
  • Google Business Profile and directories that match the website
02

Structured data

Can a machine read your key facts without guessing?

  • Business schema: who, what, where and how to contact you
  • Service and FAQ markup where it fits the page
  • Schema that matches what the page says
03

Citations and mentions

Do other trusted sources back you up?

  • Reviews and third-party mentions
  • Directory and industry listings
  • Facts others can check, such as registrations and memberships
04

Answer-ready content

Is there a plain answer worth quoting?

  • Plain answers to the questions clients actually ask
  • The answer first, then the detail
  • Service and location pages with specifics, not slogans

Example snippets use fictional data.

Discover by Aura8 · AI-ready websites and search visibility

Who it's for

Built for Australian professional services firms

Clients compare a few names before they call, and more of them now ask an AI assistant first. Discover makes sure your firm is in that answer, described accurately.

01

Accountants and bookkeepers

"Who's a good small-business accountant near me?" We check whether AI names your firm, and what it says about you.

02

Mortgage brokers

"Which broker should I talk to about my first home?" We check the questions borrowers actually ask, suburb by suburb.

03

Law firms

"Who handles family law in Parramatta?" We check the practice areas and locations that matter to you.

Another kind of professional services firm? If clients compare a few names before they call, it fits. The free Visibility Score will tell you, and we'll say so if it doesn't.

FAQ

Honest answers

No guaranteed rankings, citations or enquiry numbers. Just what we do and how we measure it.

What is the AI Visibility Score?
It's a free check of how well AI search tools can reach, read and understand your public website. A person on our team reviews your site and emails you the result within 2 business days. It looks at the things that most often get in the way, such as blocked crawlers, pages that need scripts to show content, and unclear service details.
How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT?
Nobody can make ChatGPT recommend you, but you can remove what stops it. Make sure AI tools can reach your site, read the content without running scripts, and understand who you are, what you do and where. Then give them clear, factual pages worth citing. That's the order Discover by Aura8 works in: reach, read, understand, cite.
Can you guarantee we'll appear in ChatGPT or Google's AI answers?
No, and nobody can honestly guarantee that. AI tools decide for themselves what to say, and Google says even well-built pages aren't guaranteed to be shown. What we can do is make sure your site isn't getting in the way: that AI tools can reach it, read it, understand it and find something worth citing.
How is this different from SEO?
Good SEO still matters, and Discover builds on it. Google says its AI features rely on its core Search systems, so the basics carry over. The difference is the focus: Discover checks whether AI tools can get into your site, read the content and understand who you are, what you do and where, so their answers have accurate facts.
Do we need llms.txt or other special AI files?
Not for Google. Google says no special AI files or schema are required to appear in its AI features, and its Search ignores llms.txt. Some other AI services may read it. We treat llms.txt, structured data and AI-crawler rules as good technical housekeeping that makes your site easier to read, not as a shortcut or a promise.
What's the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO helps your pages rank in the list of search results. AEO (answer engine optimisation) helps your site give the direct answer to a question, for answer boxes, voice assistants and AI answers. GEO (generative engine optimisation) helps AI assistants that write answers name and describe your business accurately. They build on each other, so Discover covers all three, starting with the basics.
Which AI assistants do you check?
We test your fixed client questions in the major AI assistants, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and in Google's AI Overviews. Answers differ between assistants and change over time, so we test the same questions every month and report what changed.
How long until AI answers change?
It varies, and nobody can promise a date. Each AI tool refreshes what it knows on its own schedule. We fix what's in the way first, then re-test the same client questions every month, so you can see what changed and when.
Will you write lots of AI content for us?
No. Discover writes plain answers to the questions your clients actually ask, on service, location and FAQ pages, in your firm's voice and signed off by you. High-volume content isn't what AI assistants cite, and it isn't what we do.
Who is Discover for?
Discover is built for Australian professional services firms whose new work starts with someone looking for help online: accountants, bookkeepers and tax practices, mortgage and finance brokers, law firms and similar firms. It isn't for agencies wanting white-label reports, anyone after guaranteed rankings or AI mentions, or businesses that want high-volume content or paid ads.
